This week's PBIS Cool Tool:
Taking responsibility for your actions.

Nichols Middle School serves a diverse population of approximately 550 sixth through eighth grade students.  These students are from the Dewey, Lincoln and Washington Elementary School attendance areas.  The educational program at Nichols Middle School reflects the best practices in the nation, including multiage team units, interdisciplinary instruction, and advisor/advisee programs. WPA murals adorn the corridor walls.
Vision Statement
The Nichols learning community maintains five major beliefs that guide our work with students:
1. All students should be challenged academically and supported in the completing of assigned work with an emphasis on quality.
2. All students should be afforded the opportunity to participate in discussions and activities that allow them to find their talents and interests as individuals.
3. All Nichols staff, students and parents should participate together in creating a respectful and civil community in which everyone feels supported and mistakes become a learning experience.
4. All students can contribute to their community and the school can be helpful in providing opportunities for service through such activities as the Good Deed program, student council, [ http://nichols.district65.net/pta ]PTA, and the Boosters.
5. All Nichols staff, students and parents should use computers and software as instructional tools for learning.
"Paws-itive Attitude"
I will always believe in myself.
Try my best.
Think before I act.
Stay healthy and safe.
I will be caring, responsible, honest, fair, and respectful.
